March 24th 2019 - Shoresearch Training

Matt Slater, Marine Awareness Officer, Cornwall Wildlife Trust will lead a Shoresearch Training event.

Improve your marine species ID skills and get involved in this fun and engaging project to survey the shore at Porthcurnick.  Shoresearch is a national citizen science project which aims to look for changes in the distribution of marine species.

Matt will explain the Shoresearch project and focus on some important marine species during a workshop in Porthscatho Memorial Hall.  After lunch he’ll help us to identify  animals and plants on the shore at Porthcurnick whilst demonstrating two Shoresearch survey methods: the Timed Species search and the Walkover Survey.

We hope the group will become inspired to survey more Roseland shores in future.

Meet in Portscatho Memorial Hall, Gerrans Hill, at 10am on Sunday 24th March.

Event to finish by 4pm.

No children under 11 years and under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  Sorry no dogs.
