Get Involved

The lifeblood of Wild Roseland are all those people who join our activities as members and volunteers for our wide-ranging activities. We have a portfolio of different projects which will change over time as volunteers suggest and initiate new areas of activity.
This provides opportunities for a diverse range of volunteers’ interests and skills to find an outlet. By getting involved our members derive the satisfaction and pleasure that comes from contributing their knowledge and experience, meeting new likeminded people, and above all discovering more about the richness of the Roseland as an environment and a community.
Take a look below at the main areas where we would welcome your involvement. If you have a particular interest, and you are not sure where it fits, come and talk to us and explore how it might be incorporated into the overall programme.

Share your enthusiasms:

  • Offer to present a talk or lead a walk on a topic that interests you or your favourite wildlife places
  • Initiate a new project on something you feel passionate about
  • Write short topical articles for the newsletter and web site

Boots on the ground and surveys

  • Hedgerow surveys
  • Verifying and updating habitat and land cover surveys
  • Assisting butterfly and bird counts
  • Recording wildlife observations online
  • Clearing and managing Beryl’s ponds
  • Local Beach cleans

Enjoy Photography

  • Take photos of wildlife and landscape that we can use in publicity
  • Get involved in the annual photography exhibition

Committee Help Needed

  • Coordinating facebook and the website
  • Compiling the editing articles and features
  • Organising and running events
  • Coordinating volunteers for projects
  • Membership and database admin
  • Fundraising and publicity
  • Set up and manage a Roseland photo archive

For project work we need funds, for materials, tools, etc. Please donate at any of our events and fundraisers, or donations can be made directly here.
